Adventures in Hot Springs!
St. Luke's 6th grade class set out on their first inaugural three-day trip to Hot Springs, Arkansas in early March of this year!
This fieldtrip integrates our 6th grade curriculum in Earth Science. Students had the opportunity to dig for Crystals in the Ron Coleman Mines, study the natural hot springs and tour the Fordyce bathhouse.
Our students also visited the Mid-America Museum. While at the museum, students explored construction and earthquakes, built rockets, and observed a Tesla Coil in action. The museum was a terrific hands-on experience for all of our students. After all their hard work studying science, our students had some fun playing mini golf at Pirate’s Cove Adventure Golf.
Of course, science was not the only thing examined on this trip, It would not be a St. Luke’s trip without “Challenging Mind, Body and Spirit”! Daily devotional activities were incorporated to give students the opportunity to work and grow together. Each activity used inspiration from their daily adventures to bring home the message that God is all around us and uses His natural works to get our attention.
See you next year Hot Springs, Arkansas! Thanks for having us!
